About Mavish Homes Inc.
A DIFFERENT STANDARD OF BUILDER
Mavish Homes is a design-build firm serving discerning homeowners throughout Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. We specialize in luxury renovations and custom homes, delivering projects that combine thoughtful design, disciplined project management, and exceptional craftsmanship.
Working alongside leading architects, designers, and highly skilled trades, we guide our clients through a structured and transparent building process—from early planning through to completion. Our focus is simple: deliver exceptional homes while ensuring the experience is organized, clear, and professionally managed from start to finish.
At Mavish Homes, we believe the best projects are built through thoughtful planning, strong communication, and an unwavering commitment to quality.
Our Story
Mavish Homes was founded on the belief that building and renovating homes should be a professional and well-managed experience. Too often homeowners encounter unclear pricing, disorganized construction, and unnecessary stress during their projects.
Founded by Mark Sickavish, a BCIT-trained carpenter and experienced project manager, the company was built around raising its standards through discipline, hard work, and a strong, healthy work culture. These principles shape how we approach every project and how our team operates day to day.
Today, Mavish Homes serves homeowners across Metro Vancouver through a disciplined design-build process focused on thoughtful planning, clear communication, and exceptional craftsmanship.
Our Mission
Our mission is to design and build exceptional homes while delivering a building experience defined by professionalism, transparency, and discipline.
Beyond construction, we believe strong companies are built on strong values. Through our Founder’s Standard community, including weekly morning walks and leadership calls for entrepreneurs, we promote the principles of health, discipline, and personal growth. These same principles guide how we operate our company and how we approach every project we build.
At Mavish Homes, our goal is simple: to help our clients bring their vision to life while maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship, organization, and care.
Design + Build Your Lifestyle®
Our Move
HOT Locations — Fraser Valley Focus
Chilliwack and Abbotsford are quickly emerging as some of the most sought-after areas for custom home builds in the Lower Mainland. As buyers look beyond Metro Vancouver, there’s a clear shift toward larger properties, greater privacy, and better overall value—without compromising on lifestyle. These areas offer the opportunity to build more expansive, thoughtfully designed homes on land that simply isn’t available in more densely populated markets.
At Mavish Homes, we see this as a natural evolution. We’re intentionally expanding our presence in the Fraser Valley to meet the growing demand for high-quality, well-executed custom homes in these communities. By focusing on Chilliwack and Abbotsford, we’re able to bring a more structured, design-aligned building experience to homeowners who are looking to build something more substantial, more refined, and ultimately more aligned with how they want to live.
“From the very start he was professional, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. He kept to schedule and handled every detail. Mark has an excellent team of sub‑trades… I felt very comfortable and in good hands throughout the project. My new home exceeds my expectations!”

From Brain Injury to Builder — A Journey Through the Trenches. See Mark’s Experience Below
At Mavish Homes, “Design + Build Your Lifestyle” is more than a tagline — it’s a philosophy. Every home we build and renovate is a reflection of how deeply our surroundings shape our well-being. Your home should restore, inspire, and align with the life you want to live.
After a traumatic brain injury at seventeen, I was told I’d never hold a full-time job. My dream of completing the Architectural Science degree at BCIT and becoming an architect ended before it began. My education wouldn’t come through the books — it would come through the trenches of hands-on construction instead.
Months of speech therapy for traumatic brain injuries in Ladysmith, BC, combined with years of recovery and relentless determination, taught me that the right environment can heal, focus, and transform you. I started at the bottom, beginning with the BCIT Carpentry Foundations program, and worked my way up — learning every aspect of the trade.
From high-rise formwork to luxury homes in Shaughnessy and industrial carpentry in Fort McMurray, each challenge rebuilt not just my skills but my mindset. Those 10,000 hours led to a role managing projects for one of the most well-known luxury custom home and renovation companies in North America. That experience became the foundation for Mavish Homes Inc. — “Mavish” meaning blessing of life.
Today, we approach every project with the same values that shaped my recovery:
I may not have become an architect by title, but I’ve built a career collaborating with some of the best architects, designers, and engineers in the Lower Mainland area and creating a team (Team Mavish) that shares the same values. Together, we bring dream homes to life through strong relationships and shared purpose.
If you’re seeking a builder or renovator who values connection as much as construction, we’d love to meet you — and help you design and build the lifestyle you’ve always envisioned.
Mark, do you have experience on the tools?
Early Foundations (Age 4)

Grew up surrounded by construction — started helping on home projects at just four years old. Learned the basics by watching and working alongside family through countless renovations and new builds.
Family Values and Inspiration

My father and I pursued the trades with a shared goal: creating safe, healthy homes for our family of six. My siblings and mom dedicated their lives to caring for others as nurses and teachers — shaping my own values of service, safety, and community.
Formal Training at BCIT

Completed the BCIT Carpentry Apprenticeship, clocking over 10,000 hours across multiple areas of construction under the Industry Training Authority (ITA). Built strong technical skills and a deep respect for craftsmanship.
Remote and Industrial Experience

Worked in Fort McMurrey camp environments — gaining hands-on experience in demanding industrial settings that required precision, discipline, and teamwork.
High-End Residential Work

Transitioned to luxury projects — from custom homes in Shaughnessy to detailed finishing work on high-end renovations. Developed an eye for design, detail, and client satisfaction.
Structural and Carpentry Expertise

Worked on specialized projects like lifting homes and performing complex interior and exterior carpentry — mastering both the art and science of structural work.
Leadership and Project Management

Moved into project management for a local luxury builder and renovator. Oversaw teams, budgets, and timelines, ensuring every build reflected top-tier quality and client vision.
Family-Driven Commitment

Family remains at the heart of my work. My goal is to help others build their dream homes with the same care and dedication that shaped mine. If our values align, I’d love to meet and discuss how my team can bring your project to life.
Where Does the Name Mavish Come From?
The name “Mavish” is rooted in family—it’s a blend of the names MacLean and Sickavish and carries the meaning “blessing of life.” But it goes deeper than that. Mavish reflects our values: success-driven, thoughtful, and committed to helping others. Every project is held to the standards passed down by our founder’s father—meticulously inspected and refined with care. We believe our quality control not only meets expectations but goes far beyond what’s typical in the industry. Mavish is more than a name—it’s a promise of integrity, precision, and heart.
Built on Family. Driven by Relationships
At Mavish Homes, our foundation is built on strong values, disciplined leadership, and respect for the people involved in every project. We have intentionally developed a building process that is structured, organized, and designed to reduce unnecessary stress for both our clients and our team.
Our approach prioritizes thoughtful planning, clear communication, and well-managed timelines. By maintaining a balanced and professional work environment, we ensure that projects move forward with focus and care—allowing everyone involved, from homeowners to trades, to perform at their best.
These same principles guide the relationships we maintain with the architects, designers, engineers, and skilled trades we collaborate with. Built on trust, professionalism, and shared standards, these partnerships help us deliver exceptional homes and lasting results for our clients.
